Fresh flowers are delicate and naturally evolve over time, but with proper care, you can help your bouquet stay beautiful and vibrant for even longer.
At Meet Blossom Studio, every arrangement is carefully conditioned in our Vancouver studio using professional floral care techniques. Here are a few simple flower care tips to help extend the life of your bouquet.
Re-cut the Stems
When you first receive your flowers, trim at least one inch off the stems at an angle before placing them into fresh water. This helps the flowers absorb water more efficiently. Remove any leaves below the waterline to prevent bacteria growth.
Keep Flowers Away From Heat
Place your bouquet in a cool area away from direct sunlight, heaters, and drafts. Excessive heat can cause flowers to wilt more quickly and shorten their lifespan.
Refresh the Water Regularly
Change the water every two to three days, or sooner if it becomes cloudy. Be sure to clean your vase thoroughly before refilling with fresh water to help keep your flowers healthy.
Edit Your Arrangement Over Time
Flowers naturally age at different rates. As individual blooms begin to fade, gently remove them and reshape your arrangement. This allows the remaining flowers to continue looking fresh and beautiful.
Use Flower Food
Flower food can significantly extend the life of fresh flowers. While we choose not to include individual packets in order to reduce waste, all of our bouquets are professionally conditioned with floral nutrients before leaving our studio.
With thoughtful care, your bouquet can continue bringing beauty, warmth, and joy into your space for days to come.
